HOW EXERCISE HELPS WITH WEIGHT LOSS
…exercise should still be incorporated into one’s lifestyle, despite having weight loss goals or not…
There are many benefits to exercise, including improving brain health, reducing the risk of disease, strengthening bones and muscles, improving your ability in everyday tasks, improving mental health and managing weight.
When exercise is performed in conjunction with a healthy diet, it can aid in promoting weight loss. However, exercise should still be incorporated into one’s lifestyle, despite having weight loss goals or not due to the many health benefits it provides.
When trying to lose weight, exercise can be used to increase the amount of energy burned in the body. To lose weight, one needs to be in an energy deficit, and exercising can help create an energy deficit.
Exercising can also help the body to build muscle. Muscle increases the amount of energy our bodies burn at rest, again assisting with creating an energy deficit, when used in conjunction with an appropriate diet.
